This wattmeter is more accurate than a Bird wattmeter, and much more versital. Not only can I read the power going out of the radio, but I can, at the same time, read the SWR (shown below.) By pushing a button, I can change the readout to show me the Impedance (Z), the Resistance (R), the Reactance (X) and the Phase (PH) of the antenna for the frequency I am on. It will also handle anything from 0.1 watt, up to 3 KW using the pickup I have attached. (You can purchase pickups which will handle up to 10 KW if you wish, but I would question the legality of using that much power!) It can also read out the power in dBm or dBRL (I don't even know what this last one is -- probably relative power). In addition, you can read Peak to Average Ratio in both Watts as well as dB. -- A wonderful addition to the shack. BTW, I have two pickups hooked up to it and it can automatically switch between them.

Shown is the amount of power my amplifier (KPA500) puts out with 25 watts drive.
